The Cathedral Choir gives voice to our faith through the art of music. Central to the Cathedral’s music mission is to enhance worship by giving voice to the glory and beauty of the liturgy. This is accomplished by the development of the singing assembly, the principal musical body of the faithful. The voices of the Cathedral Choir and that of the assembly exist in a dynamic relationship. The Choir both encourages the singing of the assembly and adds beauty to the liturgy, prefiguring the gathering of the saints and angelic choirs of the New Jerusalem.
The Choir sings every Sunday at the principal Mass at 10 a.m. Weekly rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9. In addition to our Sunday Mass, the Choir sings for the Easter Triduum, Christmas, Ordinations, and other special liturgies and events throughout the year. Membership in the Cathedral Choir is a serious commitment.
The Cathedral Choir is open to young people grades 9-12 and adults of any age. The skill level of Choir members varies from musical amateur to professional singer, but all are committed to our ultimate purpose of music excellence as we minister to the people of God week after week.
